4 Things to Enjoy on Vacation

Vacation time is around the corner. We’re going to Myrtle Beach as a family with some friends. The anticipation is killing me. The ocean, warmth, fellowship.

Have you ever considered what you like about vacation? There are so many reason why I believe we all need vacation. We work hard everyday and vacation is not the norm for us. As you take vacation this year I hope you enjoy these 4 things.

  1. Time Away: Because we often get bogged down in the regular schedule, it’s always good to take a break from the normal. Really take a break from it. I’m not planning on checking email regularly, probably won’t tweet or facebook either. Gasp! OK, maybe occasionally.
  2. Family Time: The average business person spends so little time communicating with their family. Vacation is the opportunity to take a deep breath and slow time down. Turn the radio off and listen. Your family will find it weird for awhile, but interact with them. Do what they want to do. Talk. Enjoy.
  3. Time to Focus: I often find that when NOTHING is happening, it’s a great time to think. I try to analyze where I am in life and shift my goals. I focus on God and my life.
  4. Extra Time: If you’re like me, during the year, I’m often heard uttering (or is that muttering) “I don’t have time to _____”. Guess what! On vacation, you have time! To exercise, relax, talk, catch-up, read, etc.

OK, I’m a planner. I love to project into the future and imagine everything I can do and enjoy. Hopefully time will slow down during the week I’m away. I can hardly wait!
