Seriously Church, Stop Using Facebook This Way

Facebook celebrates its 12th birthday next month. Time flies. Social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) has changed our lives. I remember the first time I registered on Facebook’s website. I thought I’d be the only person with an account but no friends. Then, almost like magic, people found me from the past. And I located long-lost relatives and friends. I started to figure out how to write content that attracted more people. Now, throughout all my social networks, I have almost 30,000 who are “friends”. Find me on most social sites here. 3 Ways the Church Could Learn from Black Friday

The Black Friday name originated in Philadelphia about 4 decades ago as a description of the crazy traffic that occurs as people race to stores for after-thanksgiving sales but later became the day that describes when retailers start to turn a profit (according to wikipedia). It’s become the Sabbath day of materialism. We celebrate Thanksgiving where we acknowledge our blessings with family and friends. Then… bam! We turn into desperate people seeking incredible savings so that we can purchase bigger gifts for the ones we love. Or ourselves. So what can the Church learn from that?!
